How to Edit Street Photography

Master the Are-Bure-Boke post-processing style in Lightroom.

Step 1: Convert to Black & White

Most Are-Bure-Boke photography is black and white. In Lightroom, go to the B&W panel and adjust the color sliders to control how different colors convert to gray.

Step 2: Increase Contrast

Push the Contrast slider to +70 to +100. This creates the dramatic, high-contrast look that defines Are-Bure-Boke.

Step 3: Crush the Blacks

Move the Blacks slider to -50 to -80. This deepens the shadows and adds drama.

Step 4: Add Grain

  • Amount: 40-60
  • Size: 25
  • Roughness: 50

Step 5: Final Adjustments

Add Clarity (+20 to +40) for midtone contrast. Adjust Exposure if needed. Don't over-process — keep it raw.
